What is this?
My observations and tools I come across that make everyday life better. I plan to write about ideas, things, and concepts that are a part of our everyday life. My primary interests lie in Tech, Entertainment, and Finance. So you can expect to read stuff under these broad umbrellas.
Who is this?
I am Augmented and Virtual Reality developer at YinzCam, where I write code to build products and experiences with entertainment value. I have a background in software development and game design. I’ve developed award-winning interactive installations for amusement parks and museums, AR interactive experiences for sports franchises like NFL, NBA, AFL. My work has been featured in festival circuits like Tribeca film festival, Games for Change, CHI PLAY, SIGGRAPH among others. I have been interviewed by Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, Pittsburgh Post Gazette. I was recently invited to speak about “Interactive Story Telling in VR” in Washington DC by American University. I have a master’s degree in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University.
Why is this?
I am doing this because this is hard. I hate writing, but I think writing is one of the most important skills that separates us from other species. It is a way to communicate ideas across time and space. My mantra is ‘Write poorly. Write poorly. Write more’. That is my primary motivation. My secondary motivation is that I consume a lot of information from various different media on a daily basis. My average daily screen time is about 4 hours and 30 mins. This does not include my work time. I read, listen to podcasts, watch videos. Recently I’ve come to a realization that maybe I should try to be more mindful of what I’m reading/listening/watching. So this is my attempt to summarise my consumption and structure my thought processes.
My plan is to do this daily but I’ve made similar claims before and not follow through. But who knows, this time it’s different.
See you tomorrow?
